The Omaha metro area was hit by a hailstorm Tuesday, June 7th. The hail was strong enough in many parts of town to break windows and pierce holes in siding, so you can just imagine the toll it took on roofs, siding and gutters!
If you believe your home or business has suffered hail damage, call the Rooferees today! It is important to choose a local company with a strong reputation!
“We found ourselves with hail damage, and John Higgins Weatherguard took care of everything, the process was so easy,” said Clete Blakeman, a Weatherguard client. You can hear more about Clete’s experience here.
If your home was hit with hail, and you are surveying your property in the light of day, here are some signs of hail damage to look for:
- Leaking Roof – Look for water on the ceilings in the top floor of your home, this could indicate roof damage. Water in the basement is usually a sign of a clogged downspout or drain.
- Visible Roof Damage – Look for loose or missing shingles. If you can safely view your roof from a second story window or a ladder on the ground (for a single-story roof), look for missing, loose, or broken shingles which can indicate that the roof has suffered damage.
- Asphalt granules – Asphalt shingles that have been damaged may lose granules. Check the perimeter of your house, and particularly at the bottom of downspouts. Run water from the garden hose in the gutters and downspouts to watch for granules as the water washes out.
- Dents on downspouts or siding – Most downspouts are made of aluminum, and if you notice dents in the downspouts, your roof has also more than likely been damaged.
The Rofeerees can assess the damage, coordinate with your insurance company, and restore your property in an efficient, professional manner. We look forward to helping you!
